Throughout my years of artistic work, the human figure and its tragic insertion in a violent area, has been the core of my inspiration.
The work I am submitting now, with a small variation, works on urban spaces with an obsessive look on bridges.
This element allows me to inquire about a disturbing universe that, on one hand unites and, on the other hand separates and they tend to have bodies wandering under its solid structure. Bridges mark borders and can both open as well as dramatically deny communication attempts.
As we all know, dizzying technological advances has marked the beginning of the 21st century.
However, with regard to the insertion of dialogue "bridges" between diverse cultures or between people, we are stuck, trapped in alleys, perhaps, without a way out.
I want to look at bridges, see the light that illuminates them and look for those that open to the possibility of communicating and allow us to get to a better world.
A lo largo de mis años de trabajo artístico, la figura humana y su trágica inserción en un espacio violento, han sido el núcleo central de mi reflexión.
En el trabajo que estoy presentando ahora, con una pequeña variante sobre mis propuestas anteriores, trabajo sobre los espacios urbanos con una mirada obsesiva sobre los puentes. Este elemento me permite indagar sobre universos inquietantes que, por un lado, unen y, por el otro, separan y que suelen tener, en las grandes ciudades, cuerpos humanos deambulando bajo su sólida estructura. Los puentes marcan fronteras y pueden tanto abrir como negar drásticamente los intentos de comunicación.
Como todos lo sabemos, este comienzo del siglo XXI, está marcado por vertiginosos avances tecnológicos. Sin embargo, en cuanto a la instalación de “puentes” de diálogo entre pueblos diversos o entre las personas, estamos atascados, atrapados en callejones, tal vez, sin salida.
Me interesa mirar los puentes, ver la luz que ilumina encima de ellos y buscar aquellos que abren la posibilidad de comunicación y que pueden llevar hacia un mundo mejor.
